“The road we take in life will challenge our plans and test our resolve. Yet, it also allows us to discover new horizons, learn valuable lessons, gain new knowledge, and embrace adversity. Each twist and turn in the road serves a purpose, shaping us into who we are and leading us to where we are today.”

The REP Human-Centered Coaching Framework is a methodology created by the founder of inLeadership. The framework consists of three key behaviors—REALIZE— become fully aware and understand the whole you; EVOLVE— develop and progress in areas you would like to improve; and PERFORM—carry out and accomplish your goals and reach your purpose. The framework uses a systematic process to inspire individuals to reach their full potential.

REP is more than an acronym; it is short for repetition. As people participate in new behaviors, they train their brains to create new neural pathways. The pathways get stronger with repetition until the behavior is the new normal. In terms of repetition, it is estimated that it takes 50-60 repetitions to master a skill and develop the associated neural pathway. Achieving success in change often stems from a process of trial and error, which requires intentional practice. People tend to excel when they conscientiously practice making small, necessary changes and draw valuable lessons from these experiences.

The framework centers around human-centered leadership and tapping into the most critical factors that make up who people are to understand better their needs and why they behave certain ways—their leadership DNA. Our past experiences shape how we show up in our personal and professional lives. Most people bury these experiences and don’t learn from them. Burying these feelings can lead to frustration, angry outbursts, or an inability to trust people. Yet trust is a critical factor in human-centered and effective leadership. To avoid harmful emotional triggers and the unhelpful leadership behaviors they promote, we must understand how peoples past shaped them.

The framework considers the interconnectedness of the fundamental and distinctive characteristics and qualities of an individual that are inherent in them. It REALIZES a client's personal, social, and contextual drivers of behaviors, motivators, emotions, values, needs, character strengths, and purpose. The framework helps the client EVOLVE with skill development and mindset shift. It allows them to create and execute a strategy to PERFORM at the desired level and monitor progress.

The REP Human-Centered Coaching Framework is rooted in evidence and research-based practices. It draws insights and principles from various scientific disciplines, including business, leadership, organizational behavior, psychology, neuroscience, performance, and emotional intelligence. Integrating these diverse scientific perspectives and understanding the intricate interplay of various factors about ourselves, others, and the environment we live and work in is essential for achieving sustainable positive change and optimal performance.
